Βράβευση του κ. Λάμπη Γ. Κωνσταντινίδη

Στις 28 Σεπτεμβρίου 2007 ο γνωστός επιχειρηματίας και άνθρωπος των Γραμμάτων κ. Λάμπης Γ. Κωνσταντινίδης βραβεύτηκε εκ μέρους του Γάλλου Προέδρου Nicolas Sarkozy με τον Γαλλικό Φοίνικα των Γραμμάτων (Palmes Académiques) για την προώθηση της Γαλλικής γλώσσας και της Φραγκοφωνίας στην Κύπρο.

Την παρασημοφόρηση του κ. Λάμπη Γ. Κωνσταντινίδη έκανε ο Γάλλος Πρεσβευτής στην Κύπρο κ. Nicolas Galey στην παρουσία της οικογενείας του κ. Κωνσταντινίδη καθώς και γνωστών και φίλων του από την Κύπρο και το εξωτερικό. Ο κ. Λάμπης Γ. Κωνσταντινίδης βραβεύτηκε επίσης το 1993 επί Προεδρίας του François Mitterand με την διάκριση του Ιππότη του Εθνικού Τάγματος της Αξίας και στην συνέχεια το 1999 επί Προεδρίας του Jacques Chirac με την διάκριση του Αξιωματικού του Εθνικού Τάγματος της Αξίας.

Η ευχαριστήρια ομιλία του κ. Λάμπη Γ. Κωνσταντινίδη σε άπταιστη Γαλλική που ακολούθησε την παρασημοφόρησή εντυπωσίασε τους καλεσμένους για το ήθος και την μοναδική της εμβρίθεια, καθώς και για το εύρος των ακαδημαϊκών γνώσεων του κ. Κωνσταντινίδη που ενώ είναι ένας εξαίρετος διαχρονικός επιχειρηματίας, παραμένει ένας άνθρωπος των γραμμάτων και της λογοτεχνίας, αλλά επίσης και ένας δεινός χρήστης της γλώσσας. Ολόκληρη η ομιλία του κ. Κωνσταντινίδη στα Ελληνικά και Γαλλικά που αποτελεί ένα σαφές μήνυμα-ορόσημο για την νεολαία μας ακολουθεί πιο κάτω.

Η ΟΙΚΟΓΕΝΕΙΑΚΗ παράδοση μάλλον δεν άφησε πολλά περιθώρια στον κ. Λάμπη Γ. Κωνσταντινίδη να ασχοληθεί με οτιδήποτε άλλο, παρά μόνο με το εμπόριο. Άλλωστε, ήταν κάτι που το ήθελε και ο ίδιος. Ο προπάππος του υπήρξε ένας από τους γνωστούς εμπόρους της Λευκωσίας στα μέσα του προπερασμένου αιώνα, το 1850. Ο πατέρας του και ο θείος του επίσης είχαν ασχοληθεί με το εμπόριο, με τον ίδιο να παίρνει ουσιαστικά τη σκυτάλη στα μέσα της δεκαετίας του 1960. Σήμερα εισάγει πληθώρα προϊόντων συνεργαζόμενος με πολλά εργοστάσια του εξωτερικού και κυρίως της Γαλλίας. Άλλωστε, δεν είναι τυχαίο το γεγονός ότι η Γαλλική Κυβέρνηση τον τίμησε επανειλημμένα.

In recognition of his business acumen, Mr. Lambis G. Constantinides, the managing director of the family owned business, was decorated twice by the French Government to "Chevalier" of the "Ordre National du M?rite" and later "Officier de l'Ordre National du M?rite". Much earlier, President de Gaulle had bestowed the "Legion d'Honneur" to his uncle.

Today, the Company with its various divisions is active in: foodstuffs and beverages; household products and electrical		 appliances; giftware; hotel equipment and supplies; duty free and fashion lines; raw materials, ingredients and chemicals.

The Beverages and Foodstuffs Division of LAMBIS G. Prepared in the most authentic tradition of Burgundy the creators of the "Cr?me de Cassis" in Dijon in 1841 "KIR Royal" is a Cuv?e Prestige champagne. Finding the right balance between the blackcurrants and Blanc des Blancs, "KIR Royal"		 is neither too bitter, nor too sweet. It must, however, be drank chilled to 5 - 6°C.

"Saint-Valentin", "le Vin des Amoureux" (the wine for Lovers) is a particular favourite on Valentine's Day in many countries, including Cyprus. Its red colour has beautiful crimson highlights. The nose explodes with the full fruit of the "Gamay" and berry fruits, yet the aroma is not overwhelming. The palate is initially full of fruit and then easy-going yet lively. The finish reveals a wine with a surprising amount of body. This wine is not intended for ageing, but will retain its appeal and character over two years. It's better tasting when served cool.

You may have it also as White wine with "Sauvignon" variety of grapes. Lambis G. Constantinides Ltd. also import the best "vin de table Fran?ais"

"CHATEAU SAINT-HONORE" label. The selection for this red, ros? and white wine is based on aroma and the fruitiness of the character of the grapes from which they are made.
